Related news Boeing ( BA ) said it would not ask for government assistance following a $25 billion bond sale late Thursday, though its debt rating took another hit earlier this week. Boeing stock fell. The massive bond offering includes debt instruments across seven tranches with maturities ranging from three to 40 years. Boeing said the offering was "one of several steps" it was taking to keep liquidity for the 17,000 companies in its supply chain. "As a result of the response, and pending the closure of this transaction expected Monday, May 4, we do not plan to seek additional funding through the capital markets or the U.S. government options at this time," the company said in a statement late Thursday. The application deadline for federal bailout money is today. Boeing had previously sought $60 billion in federal aid to support the overall aerospace manufacturing industry and the supply chain.
