Stocks jumped on Monday as rebounded from a steep sell-off in the previous week.The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 900 points higher, or more than 4%. The S&P 500 gained 3.8% while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 3.7%.Raytheon Technologies gained more than 7% to lead the Dow higher. Apple, UnitedHealth and Boeing rose more than 3% each. The S&P 500 was led by the industrials and financials sectors, both of which traded more than 5% higher.The bullish sentiment was driven by a number of factors:While the acknowledged this week could be among the toughest for coronavirus hot spots like New York, the administration had a more optimistic tone overall at a press conference on Sunday, noting signs of stabilization in hospital rates and other factors.Incoming data suggests NY state might peak sooner than Cuomo's optimistic case," Tom Lee, head of research at Fundstrat, said in a note to clients.
