BAC's Q3 showed strong operating leverage, 31% YoY EPS growth, and robust credit quality despite a slight uptick in charge-offs. Credit is watchable but not broken: charge-offs rose to 3.72% in November, yet stabilized near 3.5%; meanwhile, IB fees +43% and trading +12% support diversification. An underappreciated catalyst for BAC is G-SIB recalibration: scores inflated by nominal growth since 2012; a reset plus Basel III could unlock excess capital and accelerate buybacks.
