Management doesn't see any quick solution to Bed Bath & Beyond's recent trend of margin erosion. However, the liquidation of some major competitors could certainly help. Last month, I bought shares of Bed Bath & Beyond ( NASDAQ:BBBY ) . While the company's profitability has been under pressure, I believed that benefits from tax reform and a reprieve in competition would allow Bed Bath & Beyond to get back on track. Meanwhile, the stock was trading for just seven times earnings. Instead, Bed Bath & Beyond stock plunged another 20% last week, after the company's guidance for the coming year came in well below expectations.
