An agreement could be announced as soon as the coming days, the people said. Deliberations are ongoing and could still be delayed or fall apart, the people said. Representatives for Bain and PAI declined to comment. PAI hired advisers in 2023 to explore options including a sale of Apleona, Bloomberg News reported at the time. The French buyout firm decided to scrap the planned sale last year after receiving initial bids below its estimates, people familiar with the matter have said. A sale of Apleona would see PAI join other buyout firms in reviving divestment plans amid a more positive dealmaking environment.
