According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration , the recall covers lot 3896 of Wellesley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon sold in BJ's Wholesale Club stores in seven states between Jan. 31 and Feb. 7. “The presence of Listeria monocytogenes was found through a sample collected randomly by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Slade Gorton & Co., Inc, is investigating how the contamination occurred and taking steps to keep it from happening again,” the recall said. Officials said there have been no illnesses reported in connection with the recalled salmon. The FDA said BJ's Wholesale Club is contacting members who may have purchased the recalled product.
