Edited Transcript of BKE earnings conference call or presentation 22-Nov-19 3:00pm GMT For the quarter, UPTs increased approximately 1%, the average unit retail decreased approximately 1.5% and the average transaction value decreased about 0.5%. Year-to-date, UPTs increased approximately 2.5%, the average unit retail decreased approximately 3% and the average transaction value decreased approximately 0.5%. Gross margin for the quarter was 41.7%, up 170 basis points from 40% in the prior year third quarter. The year-over-year increase was the result of a 60 basis point improvement in merchandise margin, along with a 110 basis point improvement as a percentage of net sales in occupancy, buying and distribution costs. For the year-to-date period, gross margin was 39.6%, up approximately 20 basis points from 39.4% for the same period last year.
