For a passively managed product that only covers 17 stocks, we have concerns over the tracking errors which are a tad more than the ETF median. EWS provides attractive income with a 3.7% yield, and its relatively low-beta with the S&P 500, and no exposure to the tech sector make it a useful diversifier. EWS is the only pure-play Singaporean ETF around, but if investors are open to adding more diversification to other Southeast Asian equities, we have another product in mind in the form of ASEA which has outperformed EWS.
