The project, a two-well subsea tieback to the existing Atlantis platform, is expected to contribute around 15,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) in gross peak annualized production. First oil was delivered roughly two months ahead of the original schedule, making it the fifth of BP's seven major projects this year to start up early. Atlantis is one of BP's longest-producing assets in the Gulf of America, with gross production capacity of up to 200,000 barrels per day. The Drill Center 1 expansion adds new wells to an existing subsea hub, extending the footprint of the Atlantis field, which was discovered in 1998 and has been producing for nearly two decades. BP attributed the early delivery to the use of existing subsea inventory, more efficient drilling and completion operations, and streamlined offshore execution planning.
