Oregon gas stations saw the biggest price hike of any state this week. The average cost per gallon soared to $3.91 — a whopping 22 cents higher than last week's figure and the highest prices have been this year, according to a Tuesday AAA news release. The national average climbed only 3 cents to $2.95 per gallon. In Portland, the average jumped 23 cents to $4 per gallon, according to the release. Operated by oil company BP, the 400-mile pipeline transports gas, diesel and jet fuel from Washington throughout the Pacific Northwest.
