A drop in student enrollment and retention rate at Bridgepoint Education ( BPI ) is rattling around the education sector. The company reported an 11% drop in enrollment and a retention rate of 59.2% vs. 62.5% a year ago. For-profit education names in retreat include Chegg ( CGG ), Capella Education ( CPLA ), Laureate Education ( LAUR ), Grand Canyon Education ( LOPE ), New Oriental Education & Technology ( EDU ) , Strayer Education ( STRA ) and Lincoln Education Services ( LINC ).
