Palm Beach Post Florida will be the state most affected by the expiration of enhanced Obamacare subsidies. Giving up the fight for health insurance subsidies part of a deal to end a government shutdown. Many Floridians enrolled in the Health Insurance Marketplace will see significant increases in their monthly premiums with the subsidies expiration Jan. 1, 2026. The enhanced subsidies were first introduced in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. A deal to end the longest federal government shutdown in history left out the extension of Obamacare subsidies — and that omission will hit the Sunshine State harder than any other.
