Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX ) has exercised its option to buy the remaining shares of Millipede after its successful first-in-human clinical study. Under the original purchase agreement in January, Boston Scientific paid $90M with the option to acquire the remaining shares at $325M at closing with a $125M payment becoming available by meeting a commercial milestone. BSX expects the deal to close in 1Q19. The deal is expected to cut adjusted EPS for several years but the dilutive impact will be absorbed by internal trade-offs.
