Recent technology advances have made heavy oil production highly profitable. Spring Breakup in Canada creates budget review opportunities. As a result, higher commodity prices and the Iranian situation could accelerate spending. If commodity prices remain elevated, BTE is likely to execute its full fiscal 2026 budget, including optional infrastructure projects.
