The debt facility will support the construction of a 250MW BESS in Gura Ialomitei, Ialomita County, set to be one of the largest of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. The Aukera Romania battery storage project will be delivered in two phases, with first-phase construction already underway. The entire project is projected to be fully operational by mid-2026. Kommunalkredit served as the sole mandated lead arranger for the debt facility. Aukera managing director for project finance Aiden Yates said: “We are very pleased to partner with Kommunalkredit on this landmark transaction for Aukera and for the Romanian storage market.
