The investors include Martin Walker, Barry Bratcher and Hugh Haydon. Haydon and Bratcher are both former KBio executives. The group purchased the company from a subsidiary of British American Tobacco. Bratcher said Thursday he could not disclose details of the agreement. “It was really a good, collaborative negotiation,” Bratcher said. The company has been known over the years as Kentucky BioProcessing and Large Scale Biology. KBio announced its closure earlier this spring. The purchase was announced Thursday in a press release from the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corp. The purchase includes the KBio facility on Airpark Drive and all of the company's patents and intellectual property, the EDC press release says. A call to Economic Development Corp. CEO Claude Bacon was not returned. Bratcher, who has been with the company since 1991, said the company developed its own products and worked with other firms on their products.
