Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including to repay existing debt, according to regulatory filings. BCRED in January paid significantly less for a comparable deal. It priced $700 million of five-year notes due March 2031 at a lower 5.35% coupon and at a tighter T+190 spread. In September 2025, the company net even lower funding costs via $500 million of 5.05% five-year notes due September 2030 at T+160. The business development company (BDC) is externally managed by an affiliate of Blackstone Inc. The deal comes amid stiff headwinds for BDCs, which have been beset with redemption requests this year. In January, BCRED faced $1.7 billion of net withdrawals, or the largest since it was founded in 2021. According to Morningstar , Blackstone came up with a “novel solution” to counter this, with Blackstone employees and the firm injecting $400 million into a BCRED feeder fund for non-US investors “that funnels their investments to the BDC itself.” Sign up for T
