The Boston-based real estate investment trust said it had funds from operations of $280.2 million, or $1.76 per share, in the period. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for funds from operations of $1.80 per share. Funds from operations is a closely watched measure in the REIT industry. It takes net income and adds back items such as depreciation and amortization. The company said it had net income of $248.5 million, or $1.56 per share. The real estate investment trust posted revenue of $877.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $809.2 million, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $814.7 million. For the year, the company reported funds from operations of $1.09 billion, or $6.85 per share. Revenue was reported as $3.48 billion.
