The average inflation-adjusted hourly wage for all private-sector workers in the metro Detroit counties including Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair and Wayne, was 30.9% higher than in February 2025 compared with February 2019 (before the pandemic), . The average price of all items, meanwhile, grew 26.4% in that time frame.
