That's according to a major credit rating agency monitoring the conflict's impact on fuel retailers. The situation has wreaked havoc on energy infrastructure throughout the Middle East. Iran's military continues to threaten tankers in the key Strait of Hormuz, while disrupting natural gas operations in neighbouring Qatar and Saudi Arabia. According to Bloomberg News on Thursday, at least 1,200 people have died in Iran so far, and dozens elsewhere in the region. U.S. benchmark oil prices ( CL=F ) have gained over 15 per cent since the initial strikes on Saturday. Canada's gas price average has climbed more than 5.8 per cent, according to data from Kalibrate.
