Analyst Brody Preston said the deal complements CBNK's regional and national branch-lite model focusing on niche vertical expertise and strong risk-adjusted returns. "Stephens favors the bolt-on of a niche C&I (commercial & industrial) vertical and differentiated fee-heavy revenue mix that increase the commercial bank EPS contribution to 67%, a remix it finds multiple-enhancing, while also reducing CRE (commercial real estate) and construction concentrations below regulatory guideposts and maintaining well above peer capital ratios," the analyst wrote in a note to clients. Preston points to deal metrics of 8.9x last 12-month EPS and 1.07x tangible book value with dilution of ~5% earned back in 1.8 years along with EPS accretion of 17%.
