Earlier this year, Chase Bank announced its introduction into the Rochester market with plans for a 3,421-square-foot branch on the corner of Apache Drive Southwest and 12th Street Southwest in front of the Apache Mall. That branch will stand on part of the parking lot in front of the Starbucks Coffee shop near Rochester's Scheels store. "We continue to invest in our branch network in Minnesota where we have opened 39 branches since 2019. We are not in some major markets like Rochester, but hope to be soon. We're still confirming our plans, and will share more details as soon as we can," according to an email response from a Minnesota Chase spokesperson. Chase is not following the large-scale branch closures of Wells Fargo and US Bank, the second and third largest U.S. banks. While Chase has closed some U.S. branches, it plans to open 350 new physical branches in 2026 and 2027, according to the leader of its consumer and community banking department.
