LOS ANGELES, Aug. 14, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ChromaDex Corp. (NASDAQ:CDXC) announced today that it has entered into a securities purchase agreement for the sale of $7.0 million of its common stock in a private placement. The private placement was led by new strategic investors. The private placement is expected to close on or about August 15, 2019, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions. In connection with the investment, the Company agreed to sell 1,567,748 shares of its common stock at a per share price of $4.465, for gross proceeds of approximately $7.0 million. This private placement is in addition to the $10.0 million convertible notes (the “notes”) issued in May 2019 to existing strategic investors and completes that transaction. The net proceeds from the private placement are expected to provide ChromaDex with added resources to build TRU NIAGEN into a global brand and continue to lead the industry with NAD research and product development.
