Summary Midstream MLPs are an excellent asset class for income-seeking investors. CEN is one of the few closed-end funds that invests in this sector. The fund is nowhere near as diversified as I would like to see and makes extensive use of leverage, which could present risks. Natural gas midstream companies are likely to be able to deliver significant growth over the coming years. The fund yields 20%, but trades at a fairly hefty premium to net asset value. One of the best asset classes for income-focused investors is master limited partnerships. This is because these entities tend to have high levels of relatively stable cash flows and pay out a relatively high percentage of these cash flows to investors in the form of distributions. In addition to this, these companies are able to distribute this money to investors on a tax-advantaged basis.
