Beginning on March 1, 2020, there will be an all-new women’s watch player on the block. it’s not a new brand, but instead a spectacular new collection of ladies’ watches from the venerable (and longest-continually operating) Swiss brand Vacheron Constantin. This series, called The name of the collection, Égérie, translates as “muse” — or a source of inspiration, and in this instance, the brand draws design impetus from the beloved “pleats” of a woman’s gown or dress. This haute couture element deftly blends with the brand’s haute horology to yield a distinctive, feminine mechanical collection. Each dial of the first five timepieces being unveiled today offers a resplendent interpretation of the pleat, with a sunburst pleated center dial and outer chapter ring. The pleated elements were developed in-house in the brand’s guilloche workshops.
