A Louisville-based lender is accusing the founders of a fast-growing Tennessee-based whiskey brand of financial fraud, claiming in a federal lawsuit that it is owed more than $100 million in unpaid loans. The lender is also alleging the whiskey company is hiding a receipt of a $20 million loan, in part, from rapper and businessman Jay-Z. Farm Credit Mid-America, a Kentucky creditor that specializes in loans for farmers and rural residents, first filed suit in July 2025 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee against Uncle Nearest Inc., the whiskey brand, Nearest Green Distillery Inc, Uncle Nearest Real Estate Holdings LLC and founders Fawn Weaver and her husband Keith. Grant Sidney Inc., which is wholly owned by Fawn Weaver according to the whiskey brand's website , is the largest shareholder of Uncle Nearest Inc. Farm Credit claims Weaver used Grant Sidney to hide the $20 million loan, which Uncle Nearest allegedly used to pay down debts to lenders o
