Although the quarter was a week shorter than the same quarter a year earlier, the company posted a 20.1% gain in net sales, to $950.5 million. The results beat analysts' expectations for $909.5 million. Adjusted net income was $20.2 million, or 47 cents a share. That's slightly up from 46 cents a share in the year-ago period and well above the 42 cents a share Wall Street had expected.
