David Cordani, CEO and chairman of The Cigna Group, will retire in July 2026, the company has announced. (Contributed photo /Thaddeus Harden) Health care giant The Cigna Group announced Tuesday that its CEO and chairman, David Cordani, will retire this year and be replaced by the company's president and chief operating officer, Brian Evanko. Cordani will retire on July 1 and become executive chairman of Cigna's board of directors, the Bloomfield -based company announced in a news release. His retirement will culminate a 17-year run as CEO, having served in his current position since 2009. In that post, he has overseen one of the world's largest health care companies, with its businesses encompassing insurance and pharmacy benefit management. He had worked in a number of other leadership roles since joining the company in 1991.
