SANDUSKY, Ohio, April 24, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Civista Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: CIVB) ("Civista") reported net income available to common shareholders of $7.8 million, or $0.47 per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2020, compared to $9.5 million, or $0.57 per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2019. "We began 2020 with the expectation that one of the biggest challenges we were going to face during the year was an uncertain interest rate environment. The COVID-19 pandemic has created challenges that we, as well as other banks, could not have anticipated. Our organization has risen to the challenge and are working with our customers to assist through these unprecedented times. We have waived overdraft fees, accommodated requests for loan payment deferrals and are participating in the SBA's Paycheck Protection Program.
