Japanese, Hong Kong stocks rise Friday [MarketWatch]

The Shanghai Composite Index SHCOMP, of Chinese companies gained 0.2% to 3,288.08, while The FTSE Straits Times Index STI, of Singapore stocks weakened 0.3% to 3,292.68. South Korea's KOSPI Composite Index declined 0.1% to 2,602.80, while the S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index XJO, of Australian stocks increased 0.2% to 7,325.30. Among the Hang Seng Index constituents, alcoholic beverages/drinks company China Rscs Beer Holdings saw the largest increase Friday, as shares rose 4.0%. Shares of clothing firm Shenzhou Intl Group and pharmacies/drug stores company Alibaba Hlth Info Tech increased 3.4% and 3.2%, respectively. Shares of commercial/industrial real estate company Wharf Real Estate Invt saw the largest drop in Hong Kong, as shares weakened 4.6% on Friday. Shares of diversified holding companies firm CK Hutchison Holdings and real estate services/transactions company Sun Hung Kai Properties declined 4.6% and 2.7%, respectively.
