‘You could be next — be prepared.’ Financial advisers tell MarketWatch how they’d use $1,200 stimulus checks The federal government is poised to send millions of adults checks as part of a massive $2 trillion stimulus bill aiming to support an economy reeling from the coronavirus outbreak. The White House and Senate reached a deal early Wednesday on a bill that would send money to households and earmark $367 billion in loans to small businesses. The stimulus package still needs to pass the House of Representatives, but Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat, said bill could pass by unanimous consent. Details of the bill have not been released, but lawmakers had been mulling one-time checks of $1,200 for many adults below certain income levels and $500 to children.
