The Energy Information Administration reported U.S. crude output fell to 12.1 million bpd last week from 12.2 million in the prior week and down from a peak of a 13.1 million bpd in early March. Meanwhile, the build-up in inventories was less than expected, rising by 9 million last week, down from a gain of 15 million in the prior week. Analysts expected a 9.8 million-barrel increase in U.S. crude supplies, according to analysts polled by S&P Global Platts. Late Tuesday, that American Petroleum Institute, an industry group, said that U.S. stockpiles rose by 9.98 million barrels. Rystad Energy analysts estimated in a report Tuesday that production cuts from Continental Resources ( CLR ), Cimarex Energy ( XEC ), ConocoPhillips ( COP ), PDC Energy ( PDCE ), Parsley Energy ( PE ) and Enerplus ( ERF ) in May and June could total 300,000 barrels per da
