Zions Bank is getting its second new CEO in two years. Paul Burdiss, the Salt Lake City-based chief executive who rose to the bank's top post in April 2024, is retiring effective Dec. 31, Zions announced Monday Nate Callister, the bank's executive vice president and executive director of commercial banking, will succeed him. But Burdiss “has agreed to consult with the Company in coming months to promote a smooth transition in leadership,” Harris Simmons, the CEO and chair of Zions' holding company said in a release Monday. Burdiss joined Zions in 2015 as CFO, before ascending to CEO in 2024 . He previously worked at Dallas-based Comerica for roughly 22 years, and moved to SunTrust, where he served as treasurer, according to his LinkedIn profile “Paul has been instrumental in building a very strong finance team for the Company, and more recently in continuing to strengthen Zions Bank's position as the Intermountain West's premier banking organization,” Simmons said in a stat
