One of several reasons for that is the variety of disciplines that the sport has, one of which is pair skating. For Team USA at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics , Ellie Kam and Danny O'Shea will be paired once again with each other, while Spencer Howe and Emily Chan will be the second duo for the United States. Competition begins on the day of the opening ceremony – Friday, Feb. 6 – in Milan bright and early with the team events. The Kam/O'Shea pairing has been skating together since 2022, while the Howe/Chan pairing has been partners since 2019. Both are making their debuts at the Winter Olympics.
