President Donald Trump's trade war with China may lead to higher PC graphics card prices this holiday. The Trump administration's latest tariffs of 10 percent on $200 billion of imports from China took effect Monday. Trump, in a statement, last week said the tariffs would rise to 25 percent on Jan. 1, 2019. Trump's 10 percent tariff will apply to graphics cards assembled in China, according to two industry sources familiar with the matter. Cards made in Taiwan are not affected by the tariffs, sources said. AMD and Nvidia are the two major chip suppliers for the gaming graphics card market. The tariffs apply to individually sold graphics cards and not cards already inside prebuilt PC systems, one of the sources said.
