U.S. crude prices rebounded higher on Wednesday ahead of U.S. stockpile data. June futures climbed 13% to $13.89 a barrel, after closing down 3.4%, at $12.34 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Prices briefly spiked to $13.69 on Tuesday after a report of a bomb explosion on an oil tanker in Syria. The Energy Information Adminstration is due to report U.S. supply data later. The American Petroleum Institute reported late Tuesday that U.S. crude supplies rose by 9.98 million barrels for the week ended April 24, according to sources. The data also revealed a 1.1 million-barrel drop in gasoline stockpiles. EIA data are expected to show crude inventories rose by 9.8 million barrels last week, according to analysts polled by S&P Global Platt and a supply increases of 2.9 million barrels for gasoline. Brent crude futures rose 2.5% to $20.97 a barrel.
