U.S. natgas futures slide on forecasts for milder weather, lower demand (Reuters) - U.S. natural gas futures slipped on Tuesday on forecasts for milder weather and less demand over the next two weeks than previously expected. That decline follows a 10% increase in the prior session to a near six-week high on worries gas production will decline as drillers shut oil wells in shale basins due to the collapse in crude prices to below zero for the first time ever. Those oil wells produce a lot of gas. After surging more than 20% over the past three days, front-month gas futures for May delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell 3.9 cents, or 2.0%, to $1.885 per million British thermal units at 9:57 a.m. EDT (1357 GMT). U.S. oil front-month futures, which will expire on Tuesday, were up over 100% to a positive $2 a barrel.
