U.S. benchmark oil futures climbed on Wednesday, rebounding from a 21-year low a day earlier, after President Donald Trump said in a tweet that he has told the Navy to destroy any Iranian gunboats that harass U.S. ships at sea. Gains for oil also came on the back of a smaller-than-expected weekly climb in domestic gasoline stockpiles, which helped to rally futures prices for the fuel. June West Texas Intermediate oil rose $2.21, or 19.1%, to settle at $13.78 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Prices settled at $11.57 Tuesday, the lowest most-active contract finish since February 1999, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
