Cumulus Media, a national radio broadcast company with holdings that include WXLO of Worcester, filed a streamlined Chapter 11 bankruptcy package on Thursday, March 5. The move eliminates about $600 million in debt. "The requisite majority of debtholders committed to vote in favor of the Plan, which calls for the cancellation of 100% of the Company's existing funded indebtedness in exchange for 100% of the Company's reorganized equity and $50 million of new convertible notes, as well as the amendment and restatement of the Company's asset-based revolving credit facility to provide continued liquidity," Cumulus wrote in an announcement of a restructuring support agreement. Cumulus said employees and listeners will not be affected by the move. The company has 394 radio stations in 84 markets, including Worcester. Like WXLO, Nash Icon and The Pike are part of Cumulus.
