According to an earlier announcement by Coastal Bend LNG in July 2025, the company began developing the facility with a capacity of 22.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). Subject to a positive final investment decision, KBR and Técnicas Reunidas will also undertake the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) stage of the project. The collaboration between KBR and Técnicas Reunidas will involve delivering the FEED for multiple large-scale liquefaction trains using ConocoPhillips' optimised cascade process (OCP). This design aims to produce cost-effective liquefied natural gas (LNG) while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with Coastal Bend LNG's objectives.
