Under the agreement, PETRONAS LNG will deliver one million tonnes per year (mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG). This deal represents a significant milestone in the companies' long-standing collaboration, strengthening energy ties amid Asia's changing gas landscape. It is intended to bolster China's economic development and advance its clean energy objectives, including the “Dual Carbon” goals. China's targets are to peak carbon emissions before 2030 and reach carbon neutrality by 2060. PETRONAS LNG marketing and trading vice-president Shamsairi Ibrahim said: “This agreement marks an elevation of our relationship with CNOOC, advancing our shared commitment to energy security and a lower carbon future. “Beyond supplying LNG, it reflects the continued development of our long-term partnership.
