MENLO PARK, Calif., March 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Corcept Therapeutics Incorporated (NASDAQ:CORT), a company engaged in the discovery, development and commercialization of drugs to treat severe metabolic, oncologic and psychiatric disorders by modulating the effects of the stress hormone cortisol, today announced that it has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey against Teva Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. (“Teva”) for infringement of Corcept patents covering the use of Korlym® (mifepristone) 300 mg Tablets (“Korlym”). Corcept filed suit in response to Teva’s Abbreviated New Drug Application (“ANDA”), filed by Teva seeking U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) approval to market and sell a generic version of Korlym prior to the expiration of Corcept’s U.S. Patent No. 8,921,348, which expires in 2028, and U.S. Patent No. 9,829,495, which expires in 2036.
