Microcap Correvio Pharma stock slammed after FDA rejects anti-arrhythmic drug Shares of microcap Correvio Pharma Corp. CORV, -8.48% slid about 12% in premarket trade Tuesday, after the company said it has received a Complete Response Letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regarding its new drug application for Brinavess, a treatment for abnormal rhythms of the heart. Vancouver-based Correvio said the FDA letter said that the data submitted provides "substantial" evidence of Brinavess' effectiveness as an anti-arrhythmic drug for the conversion of atrial fibrillation, but said it does not offer reassuring data regarding its safety. "The FDA indicated that Correvio will need to develop an approach to select patients who are at low risk of adverse cardiovascular reactions and that data from an additional, potentially uncontrolled, clinical study will be needed to assess Brinavess' cardiovascular risk in the selected patient population and to support an NDA resubmission," th
