Related news Target ( TGT ) reported a spike in sales but also warned higher costs due to the coronavirus crisis are weighing on profits. Target stock fell. The discount retailer has seen same-store sales swell by more than 7% increase in Q1, with a decline in in-store sales being countered by a doubling online. Same-day online services saw the biggest boost in popularity. Target is befitting from offering customers options such as the ability to order online and pickup in store. Same-store sales were up 3.8% in February, then soared to low double-digit growth in March, peaking midmonth. Sales at the start of April were similar to late March, but "improved meaningfully" on April 15. The boost to online sales is gaining traction, with comparable digital sales up by 275% so far in April. There have been days where order pickup rates have been twice as high as Cyber Monday. Target's fiscal Q1 runs from early February through April. A date for full quarterly results hasn't been announced
