The stores will be in Texas and Utah, according to the company's website. USA TODAY contacted Costco on Monday, Feb. 16, to ask for opening dates, but did not immediately receive a response. Costco, a members-only wholesale store, opened its first location in 1976 under the name Price Club . The location was inside a converted airplane hangar on Morena Boulevard in San Diego. The company opened its first warehouse location in Seattle in 1983. Costco said in early February that it has 924 warehouses, including 634 in the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as locations in foreign countries, such as Mexico and Japan.
