Nearly 60 years later, he has decided to close the doors of the long-standing family business at the end of the month, raising questions about the future of the historic building that sits in the heart of Montreal's Chinatown. "It's going to be very hard to not come here," said Lee. Behind him, a steady stream of customers popped in to pick up final orders at the counter of the 200-year-old building where the company has long produced noodles, cookies and sauces. "There are lots and lots of memories here." Lee's family history in Canada stretches back to 1880, when his great-great-grandfather arrived to help build the Canadian Pacific Railway. Lee's grandfather, Hee Chong Lee, started the family company in 1897 as an import-export business of Chinese goods, under the name Wing Lung. The family pivoted to noodles in 1946, after the Second World War disrupted shipping lanes, and have been making them ever since. Lee knows every corner of the four-storey former school building
