Silver mining stocks are moving lower as the precious metal pulled back sharply after briefly breaking above $80 an ounce for the first time. Coeur Mining and Hecla Mining are both down in early trading, tracking the retreat in silver prices as investors take profits following the recent surge. DigitalBridge Group is jumping about 34% in premarket trading after reports said SoftBank Group is in advanced talks to acquire the alternative asset manager. DigitalBridge invests in digital infrastructure assets such as data centers, and the potential deal has fueled a sharp repricing of the stock. Coupang shares are up around 2.5% after the South Korean e-commerce company announced a compensation package tied to a major data breach. Coupang said it will pay 1.69 trillion won, or about $1.18 billion, to holders of roughly 33.7 million accounts following the leak, which had sparked backlash from customers and lawmakers.
