The Palazzo di Varignana event saw Corrado Lopresto's 1950 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Berlinetta Pinin Farina take out the most prized trophy of them all, dominating the Best of Show out of the 37 curated vehicles scattered around the grounds. With impeccable history dating back to Sicilian nobleman Giovanni San Giorgio Gualtieri, the Alfa was the first car to ever feature dual headlights and also won the Aerodynes class, but it did not win over the spectators. The People's Choice award went to Elad Shraga's Ferrari 121 LM, which won the Giro d'Italia with Formula 1 Grand Prix winner Piero Taruffi after its debut in the 1000km of Buenos Aires in 1955. The Ferrari, one of four ever made, also saw service racing in the US with Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles and 1961 Formula 1 World Champion, Phil Hill.
