FINDLAY, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Winter months bring lower air temperatures and icy road conditions that can complicate driving, especially for young drivers. Cooper Tire’s Tread WiselyTM program, a tire and vehicle safety campaign for teens and young adults, offers tips to help them stay safe on the road.“Winter weather can require extra attention and quick response when driving, and the cold temperatures can also impact tire care,” said Bill Geaman, Cooper’s Manager of Consumer Relations. “Outside temperatures can impact tire pressure by one pound per square inch (psi) for every 10-degree drop in temperature. Because even a small drop in tire pressure may alter a vehicle’s safety, it is very important to pay extra attention to your tire pressure during extreme temperatures.”To check tire pressure, find the car’s ideal air pressure listed on the sticker inside the car door, glove box, fuel door or in the car’s manual.
