The war in Ukraine continued with no end in sight. And while the conflict in the Middle East is in the process of resolution, transit through Quick Insights Management noted unresolved Ukraine and Red Sea conflicts as risks, but has focused on contract backlog, long-term charters, and strong balance sheet to mitigate impacts. Danaos is adding newbuild vessels at competitive prices, secured new 10-year charters, expanded contracted revenue backlog to $4.1 billion, and maintains high charter coverage through 2027. The company increased its dividend to $0.90 per share, continues selective share buybacks, invests opportunistically in dry bulk assets, and highlighted a sizable liquidity position and low net debt.
